Not your usual A-list retreat: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie book a family holiday in the Lake District

British break: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (pictured in France over the weekend) are said to be planning a holiday in the Lake District with their brood

They're used to trotting around the globe with their brood, and have holidayed in a whole host of exotic destinations in recent years.
But for this summer's break, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are hot-footing it to the Lake District with their family.
Taking time off from their filming commitments, the superstar couple will swap their usual sun-soaked retreats for a relaxing boathouse on the tranquil Lake Windermere.
The family have planned to take their kids, Maddox, 11, Pax, eight, Zahara, seven, Shiloh, six, and four-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox, up to the Lake District while Angelina shoots new movie Maleficent near London.

Family fun: Brad and Angelina's six children will no doubt be looking forward to spending a few days in the great outdoors

A source told the Daily Mirror: 'Originally, the film was supposed to be shooting close to the Lakes, but relocated to a more convenient spot close to Pinewood studios.
'They’d already booked a few days off though, and they didn’t want the kids to miss out on their trip up to the Lakes, so they decided to go anyway.
'Brad has rented out an entire boathouse, and the couple have been looking up some local restaurants to dine at whilst there. They’re also planning a day of quad biking for the kids – and Brad.'

Despite the couple's slightly less than glamorous choice of holiday, it doesn't mean they are confined to the UK.
The family have recently returned from spending the Bank Holiday weekend at the seaside town of Le Touquet in northern France.
Brad, 48, and Angelina, 37, were seen grinning from ear-to-ear as they visited a small toy shop, Culture Kid, with their brood.
And it would seem the kids would have been thrilled with the visit as well, with the couple reportedly splashing out £200 on gifts for their six children.
The shop's owners were evidently delighted with the sudden attention, writing on their Facebook page: 'Absolutely charming and sweet family!! Thanks for the visit!'
