Baby, baby, baby oh!: Justin Bieber will appear as a celebrity mentor on the X Factor this season

After a disappointing first season, Simon Cowell is pulling out all the stops for season two of X Factor USA.
Pop sensation Justin Bieber has signed on to become a celebrity mentor with judge LA Reid.
Bieber, 18, who was spotted filming takes for the talent show in Los Angeles yesterday, posed for photographers in a white T-shirt and shades.

'Long day but great day. @LA_Reid @ScooterBraun just like old times! thanks,' the Girlfriend singer tweeted yesterday.
Justin was with Epic records CEO Reid on the roof of a building in Los Angeles with some of this year's X Factor over 25s group.
The pair were filming the judges' houses phase of the competition, and L.A. Reid added: 'Great day with my guys! @justinbieber @scooterbraun @TheXFactorUSA.'

Reid signed Bieber to Island Def Jam while he was still chairman of Island Def Jam Music Group.
Reid left Island Def Jam in March 2011 after seven years with the company to join The X Factor US, and he became chairman/CEO of Epic Records in July 2011.
Bieber appeared as a guest performer in the first season finale of the US show and he is still signed to Island Def Jam.
Last year Reid enlisted Rihanna, another artist signed by Reid to Island Def Jam, as a guest mentor to help him evaluate contestants and she performed on the show in a later episode.

The judges’ houses stage of The X Factor always sees some exciting celebrity appearances and a new judging panel for the US show means a fresh crop of famous guest stars.
It was also revealed yesterday that Demi Lovato has enlisted the help of her fellow former Disney star Nick Jonas.
A source close to both the singers told MailOnline: 'Demi and Nick go way back, Demi's pretty good friends with all the Jonas brothers and she even brought Nick out as a special guest on her tour recently.
It is as yet unknown who will feature in the judges’ houses stage as a guest mentor alongside Britney Spears and Simon Cowell this season.

The hosting gig is also up for grabs after Steve Jones was dropped but names thrown in the ring include Glee star Kevin McHale, Mario Lopez, George Clooney’s girlfriend Stacy Keibler, Kelly Osbourne and Khloe Kardashian.
The reality TV star has apparently set her sights on the talent show and is being 'seriously considered' for a role presenting on the series.
Khloe said: 'I'm a big fan of The X Factor. I've always wanted to do hosting or talk show hosting, so it's definitely something that I would love to do and would be honoured to do.'
